Awards
Paschimbanga Bangla Akademi has been entrusted by the Govt. of West Bengal to deal with entire procedure of selecting and conferring the apex literary awards of West Bengal in the field of literature. These awards are:

- Bibhutibhushan Smriti Puraskar (Prose Fiction)
Selection procedure consists of different stages. They are: publication of advertisement in the esteemed Dailies, seeking recommendations from various institutions and personalities already awarded. The Selection committee finalises the proposal consists of names of probable awardees only on the basis of merit.
